Looks pretty good to me! The concept is usually done by someone else and it’s just the 3D modeler’s job to convert it to 3D, but good on the school for teaching you several other steps in the pipeline in the likely event one would work in a small indie project and have to wear many hats, so to speak!

EinMeister responds:

I am probably never going to do concept art, but this course helped me improve my creativity by cramming ideas into paper. This is the second time I do such thing.
I am trying to specialize so I only do guns or at least only hard surface 3D in the future.

I really want to see a smoothly-animated version of this beautiful image at some point.

I'll get around to playing Freedom Planet 2 eventually, don't bug me!

Gx3RComics responds:

Eventually!? Do it nooOoOoOOOoOoOooWwww!! >:V

That Tonic Trouble scene you did for me was so cool! Thanks!

You're welcome again! Thank you for supporting me :)

Oh my, your art is beautiful just to look at! It even indulges in my personal fetish of women with BIG smiles a lot of the times (what, what did you think I was gonna say--I love all aspects of the female anatomy, but I really do have the weird fetish for exaggerated smiles specifically)! I'm going to follow your art now, but I seriously wish I had discovered your stuff a lot sooner!

LilStank0 responds:

Thank you very much!! :DD

This was the best and funniest possible thumbnail you could have made for the latest EOFS episode! I think you know about Chris-Chan...this reminds me of that one extremely uncomfortable image of him with his clearly-scared girlfriend at the time. Naturally, Chris-Chan is in jail now. Good thing I have a sense of humor about creepy stuff, within reason...

TheMiamiDeSantos responds:

yeah i know about chris chan, that motherfucking nasty bastard lol

Aww! That gun is so CUTE!

TheMiamiDeSantos responds:

we call it "garrucha" a brazilian derringer

Very pretty! I'm even more serious now that your art style could probably get you a job at Disney!

And speaking of concept art--yeah, I've noticed you and others have had to make the unfortunate decision to start watermarking everything you post so that, at the very least, AI art scraping algorithms don't get the highest quality version of your work, but the watermark does seem to have a good balance of being clearly there while not ruining the entire picture too much. If anything, I almost want the watermark to be a smidge more opaque so I can fully read what it says!

Catinyt responds:

thank you so much!!
also, I started using this watermark not 'cause the Ia'S STUFF, BUT BECAUSE SOME PEEPS STARTED USING THE COMMISSIONS I DID FOR OTHER PEEPS AS PFPS :(
ALSO IT JUST SAYS "COMMISSION, DONT USE IT PLEASE" I THINK I HAVE TO FIN ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE IT MORE READABLE? XD
ALSO SORRY FOR ALL THESE CAPITAL SENTENCES, I DONT WANT TO SCREAM AT YOU, LOL

The top half is fantastic, but it looks like you ran out of energy in the bottom half. Still, the top half is absolutely STUNNING! Keep trying, you clearly have some great potential based on that top half alone (drools at the details)!

gothicseawitch responds:

thanks! i did get tired, my neck hurt for starring all the details down and my nerves where hurting at the end.

I hate to be that one guy who makes a critique after all this praise you're getting, but one thing you may want to watch out for in future background drawings is not having lines too close to each other (I'm sorry if I can't remember what my college professors called this). Basically, in this case, to make it more obvious that the chair bottom is closer to us than the book case in perspective, it would help if the chair bottom extends past the bookcase. It looks like the vertical line on the chair almost perfectly touches the vertical edge of the book case, and I guess it makes it look like the chair bottom is flat?

Man, I need to look up that term my professors used so I don't have to explain this in so many words. Either way, this drawing is very entertaining and great overall, I just wanted to help a little bit to make future stuff look even better!

Finasty responds:

Now i understand what you mean, the bookcase is a bit far from the chair in case of perspective, that's why you see the vertical lines almost touched perfectly
