Playing dictator is a lot more fun and forgiving in a tabletop roleplaying game, if I thought he would legitimately do it then I would suggest the man resign, make some real friends and start a homebrew dungeons and dragons campaign.

To play Devil's Advocate, though (as if he doesn't have enough advocates in the "liberal" media), I'm pretty sure he lost his ability to make real friends ever since he managed to bankrupt a casino a couple years before I was even born.
