Not every drawing needs to look "anime." This is fantastic!
Too bad his name isn't Nightman, then I would have an excuse to quote:
"DAY-man...come to defeat the NIGHT-man, WOAH-AH-OHHHH-OOHHH!!"
I was going to comment "Bust a Groove!" to celebrate this fabulous pose, but then I read the title and learned this is from the actual game called Bust a Groove. I wish these types of games came back, some of us could use the opportunity to exercise while at the same time playing video games in recent years...
These types of characters remind me how much I actually liked and miss the 90's "CalArts" style (the term supposedly first came from the mouth of Ren and Stimpy's disgraced co-creator, Jon Kricfalusi, and he was referring to this "look" as the "CalArts" style of the day). As far as "overdone" cartoon styles go, you could do a lot worse than this expressive style!

Trippy. I might have overdid it with the 'shrooms again...
Plot twist, he's only in his late 20's, but the teenagers on social media and Newgrounds constantly make him feel like he's ancient, especially when he goes on about how amazing Rugrats and SpongeBob were.
TOTALLY not projecting here...

She's looking at us thinking, "My my, what a child."
