The lighting and materials is easily the best part. I know he’s supposed to be stylized, but perhaps you can add a fur-like bump map so his fur doesn’t look like skin or flesh as much, if not a full-blown fur system like you would see in Zootopia—the former method is easier and more “cartoon-y,” of course. Maybe make the reflection of his fur less shiny or more velvety through using anisotropy, perhaps? It’s really technical stuff, I know, but Blender’s PBR shader should make tweaking this stuff a little more straightforward, I hope.
