What is it about lighting in Cinema 4D specifically that looks SO GOOD for simple, stylized art??

Good point and you got a good eye for details. I had spent more time lighting this simple model than actually modeling this art. Texturing it to get that sheen was another tricky element.
If you play around with other applications like blenders you should try their rendering engine ‘Cycles’, it’s as powerful as V-Ray 5 + C4D
Is the lady cosplaying as Fio actually from Evil Con Carne?
yep!
I love her, too.

Ah, my sleep paralysis demon!
Here in the flesh!
I love these types of funny faces, but be aware this is the Internet and, especially on sites like Twitter, some people may interpret this as racist just because it is called “Yellow People.” I can tell the difference, of course, but these days I don’t have much faith in people supposedly wiser and more experienced than me to either recognize that this has nothing to do with real-life ethnicities or to use this as an excuse to be openly racist against Asians.
but they are literally yellow?
This is about as unique and different as it possibly gets. Great job!
thanks! :) Yeah i don't see a lot of insect oc's so it was nice to draw one for a change.
As someone who grew up with the GBA, I am really partial to bold, chunky pixel lines.
I never used to do too much chunky pixel art, but it's a lot of fun to do. Also got a bit of a sweet spot from the GBA days.
These are some refreshing character designs, especially the human on the right! Not everything has to follow standard anime conventions!
thank ya big time dude!
You’ve done comics before. I think most of them were just one or two panels, but The Far Side was a one panel newspaper comic, so those definitely count. These sketches are very clean and pleasant.
You son of a gun- how dare you remind me I've drawn comics before. How could you do this to me. Now I look like an utter bafoon.
I'm kidding of course, it's sweet that you remember- because apparently I certainly didn't.
I guess what I tried to say was this one was my first serious comic. Or something. I unno'.
Also thanks aboot the cleanliness. I don't sketch inking pieces anymore cause I don't like how the eraser rubs out the fineliner, and then I'd have to redo the lines again and usually I'd mess up and make a mess of things. So I just do them in one go now I guess.
(also, is it a comic if it's not sequential? Wouldn't the far side count as an illustration with text? Cause if it counts, wouldn't a painting at a museum with a description underneath count as a comic too?)
Low-poly art with pixellated textures are so sexy!
Texture painted styles I really vibe with. Although my 2D skills kinda hold me back there.
PS2 era was a great mix of painted styles + simple dynamic effects- games of that era regularly surprise me with their textures and simple geometry. I'm not THAT powerful.. Yet!
