But in all seriousness, this is a question I’ve been asking myself recently: Why is it, in dark times, that society as a whole insists on fighting the negativity by being MORE negative? When I try to be positive, I’m not in denial of bad things happening in the world, I just think we’re more effective at stopping some of those bad things when we are not in a state of hopelessness, thus I need to work hard to brighten up (or at least neutralize) the room so people don’t wallow in sadness and bring me down with them…

I try not to let my perpetual sense of dread affect me or especially other people around me who could use someone more optimistic in their circle of friends, but this is exactly the type of dreams and thoughts I have to deal with as someone with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder).
