It’s a good thing I watched this right after my own shift—I relate deeply to Ballfrog on the right, although thankfully nobody at my job has made it worse yet by going on and on about crypto. I like how both are animated like they are balloons tied to a stick!
You…you do these incredible animations at the last minute?? I don’t think I can handle that kind of last-minute pressure myself. Great job on this as always!
its a terrible rush of "oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no "
One of these days I’ll get a dog like little Wench!
F is me when I watch an anime that gets too repetitive over time.
Too bad the assignment limited you to less than 20 seconds. This was cute, but I'm spoiled rotten by the much-longer animations you posted in the past.
Very smoothly-animated! No sound FX, though?
Amazing, amazing, RADICAL, Amazing!! You all did so much justice to the game that made me who I am today! Watching that final “Sayonara, Shadow” scene was particularly bittersweet. Remember when “old” Sonic Team seriously cared about each individual character, their character arcs, and making sure they resonated with every player ON TOP of just making the coolest Sonic games, ON TOP of adding in genuinely-awesome side games like the Chao Garden? Imagine how much more impact that scene would have if SEGA didn’t just decide to bring back a Flanderized version of Shadow without a consistent in-universe explanation other than “he’s popular.”
I suppose it can’t be helped now, considering the current state of corporate triple-A games and companies like SEGA. I should be happy that Sonic Team poured so much love into the Dreamcast/GameCube masterpiece and 20 years later the fans did the same thing in this brilliant collab!
I’ve never been a fan of 2D Puppet Animation or After Effects-like 2D motion blur, but like the early seasons of Rick and Morty the writing and jokes more than make up for it! Plus, while I’m not personally a fan of this style of animation I do have to acknowledge that a ton of work was put into the movement and the detail in all the rigs and backgrounds.
So well done! In particular, I really liked the head movements on all the characters for some reason. It reminds me of Art Babbitt’s work at Disney during its Golden Age!
Hi, my name is Jeffrey Thrash. You may know me from my YouTube channel. I enjoy video games and cartoons and I like to create my own animations. Enjoy!
