I've been privately dabbling in pixel art again to see if it improves my character designs (makes them more readable/simpler on the eyes, even at a low resolution).

You won't have to worry about competition from me anytime soon, but I can see why you enjoy doing pixel art so much, now!

I definitely agree about Pixel art being good to improve other skills like char design or anatomy etc. I find when drawing I can get too focused/bogged down on unimportant details, and with pixel art every pixel matters (at a low enough resolution anyways haha). So it gives you a better idea of what really matters and what's best to pay attention to. I know my drawing skills improved tons after I got back heavily into pixel art.

Actually one of the areas I'm weak in is landscapes and environments, and doing them in pixels was so much easier and so much fun that now that I've done a tone of those, It gave me enough experience to be able to feel confident to draw more appealing environments traditionally that I didn't have before.

By this comic's definition, I've been an "Alpha Male" this whole time and I didn't even know it (probably because that would require me to be secure in my masculinity and friendships).

In all seriousness, you might be confusing "Alpha Males" with self-proclaimed "Sigma Males." Most alpha males I know are like the best Dads ever who deserve to have children that he raises to be as both strong and caring of the needs of others as he is.

I will never get tired of the contrast between the utter babes at the focal point of your images combined with the weird potato-looking creatures in the corners of said images. I want to be friends with that alien in the first picture.

I would SO warn my 8-year-old self of what the Internet would turn into if I had a time machine. The Internet was pretty darn cool before the big companies took over, though.
