I like the implication in the second panel that the cat just pops up from thin air, like the Chesire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.
I thought this was an actual mascot for a mascot platformer back in the '90's that was trying to ride off the early Sonic games' success--especially with the grid background reminding me of SEGA Master System box art!
This kangaroo seems like he would be much cooler than Kao the Kangaroo (especially the "reboot" version of him in the recent-ish Switch and PC game--the less said about that game's writing pandering to Gen Z, the better), that's for sure...
